July 21/22 2007 Elite Youth Cup round Round 2Following on from the recent update, Richie had taken the tough decision of choosing the British Masters motocross round at Foxhills for this weekend.
Amazingly the rain didn’t deter them and the journey was in progress. Unfortunately though the weather had badly affected the Foxhills track and a call from the AMCA was received canceling the event. A detour was put into action, a phone call was made, and Richie was on his way down to Devon for the Elite Youth cup round at Landrake.
After an amazingly long journey they arrived at the perfect looking circuit and greeted by the well-organized club, ready for the five races planned to take place over the weekend. Richie qualified third, to start the weekend off, then had a second and third on the Saturday. Sunday was a third and first, leaving race five requiring a first or second placed position to be overall winner and to be leading the championship. Richie’s start however didn’t go as planned and he only managed fourth position. Richie commented, “I was really disappointed, ive lost first overall by one point, and im now in second in the championships, but ive got a couple of weeks before the next Elite round to claw them points back”.
Richie will be competing at the BYMX Nationals at Leuchars, Scotland this coming weekend, then as he has previously mentioned, the following weekend will be at Mildenhall, Suffolk for the third round of the Elite Youth Cup.
